Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Global Mission Partners (GMP) is a 501-(c)-3 Oklahoma not-for-profit corporation which provides opportunities for short-term international medical, evangelism and construction missions to serve persons who have little or no access to health care and adequate housing. Since February 1999, GMP mission teams have partnered with other mission organizations to lead hundreds of volunteers internationally to provide medical, surgical and dental services and health education for over 20,000 patients. GMP has performed over 400 surgeries and celebrated over 3,500 first time commitments of faith. Teams have served in Nepal, Ecuador, Russia, and Mexico, Haiti, and is beginning its first service in Kenya in January 2007. Donations of medicines and supplies have exceeded 1.75 Million dollars.
The medical missions not only change the lives of the patients, but also impact the lives of those who serve. Medical missions need the participation of physicians, dentists, surgeons, nurses, therapists, general helpers, and university or medical students and resident physicians. Early application is very important as international projects take significant advanced planning.
GMP was founded and is led by Bryan L. Frank, MD, an Anesthesiology/Pain Medicine/Medical Acupuncture specialist. Dr. Frank has directed or participated in over 70 international missions to redeveloping areas in the US and abroad during the last 25 years. Internationally, he has served in Mexico, Russia, Nepal, Haiti, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic.
Beyond the medical missions, GMP has led and supported home-building missions in Mexico and provided scholarships, registrations, and other support for students and adults. These projects are coordinated with Amor Ministries and Proyecto Abrigo, well-established home-building ministries that have provided thousands of homes to poor Mexican families living on the border in the Tijuana, Ciudad Ju?rez, and Canc?n regions. This work has been accomplished through over 20,000 participants from all across North America.
In his egular professional life, Dr. Frank specializes in the integration of Medical Acupuncture into conventional biomedicine and is a widely recognized teacher at national and international medical acupuncture and pain medicine symposia, including Japan, China, Canada, Austria, Germany, England, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Portugal, Czech Republic, Denmark and Mexico. He has served as President (1999-2001) of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA) and as President (2004-2006) of the International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques (ICMART). He was a Senior Instructor for the UCLA Medical Schools Medical Acupuncture for Physicians Program for eight years and has taught for the University of Miami School of Medicine in the Medical Acupuncture Program and McMaster University School of Medicine in Hamilton, Ontario, and at the Harvard Medical School Acupuncture program. He has extensive experience in Wilderness and Travel Medicine, which serves well in the International Medical Mission Field, and has authored or co-authored numerous medical articles, chapters, texts, and atlases.
Dr. Frank is an ordained Pastor with Citychurch and MetroChurch in Oklahoma City and Edmond, OK, respectively. He lead the Global Missions Ministries and the Healing Rooms Ministries and is highly regarded in his teaching and ministry activities. All missions encompass some evangelism appropriate to the communities we serve. All services are offered regardless of faith commitment or beliefs. Volunteers have served with Dr. Frank from many denominational backgrounds and non-Christian walks as well.
